I am the full-time Anglican Chaplain to the University of Reading. In partnership with a team of other full and part-time Chaplains my role is to help provide pastoral and spiritual care for students and staff of any faith or none. (For more information see the Chaplaincy website).

I am married to Joanna, a free-lance medieval historian, and have two children.

If you would like to contact me for any reason, do feel free to email me or drop into the Chaplaincy centre just behind the Whiteknights library.

My academic interests are in history - particularly ecclesiastical - most forms of theology and biblical studies. Together with my Roman Catholic fellow chaplain, Sabine Schwartz, I help deliver lectures on the Bible and English Literature, and Religion in Modern Britain.

    Publications

My personal interests include bee-keeping, home-brewing, bread-making, badminton, reading fiction.

Music favourites at the moment include U2, Bruce Cockburn, Coldplay, The Cure, Moby, Tracy Chapman, Sarah McClachlan. Classic: John Taverner (C20) and Górecki.

Before coming to Reading University in 2005 I was a curate in NorthYorkshire
