In 2008 I graduated from the University of Sheffield with a B
Med Sci in Orthoptics.
Following that I completed an MSc in Investigative Ophthalmology and Vision
Science at the University of Manchester. Alongside this degree I worked as a
part-time orthoptist at Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital. After my MSc I continued work as an orthoptist and also began work at the University of
Manchester as an optometry clinical tutor.
Since April 2010 I have started work at the University of Reading
as a research assistant to Dr Anna Horwood and Dr Patricia Riddell, where we
are studying the development of ocular convergence and accommodation over the
lifespan. From October 2010 I will be starting my PhD researching
aniso-accommodation in anisometropia.
