The Archaeological Potential of Secondary Contexts

Southampton ALSF Palaeolithic Seminar
29 November 2003

The Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund-sponsored Southampton ALSF Palaeolithic Seminar was held at the Highfield Campus, University of Southampton on Saturday November 29th, 2003. The meeting provided a forum for ALSF-projects with a strong Palaeolithic element to exchange information on their methods and results. The meeting also supported the dissemination of current Palaeolithic research frameworks and approaches to the archaeological curatorial community, and promoted discussion of how the needs of the Palaeolithic heritage could be successfully managed within the current curatorial framework.

Present at the meeting were the staff of ALSF-funded projects, local government archaeologists and representatives from English Heritage.
