The Archaeological Potential of Secondary
Contexts
The goals are to identify sedimentary structures that may be used as potential temporal markers to indicate the time-depth of fluvial sequences and the depositional and erosive events associated with those sequences. Three sub-themes are addressed: 1. The duration of fluvial events associated with the deposition of sand, gravel, clay and silt sediments. 2. The proportion of glacial-interglacial cycles represented with river terrace fluvial aggregates sequences. 3. The duration of depositional hiatus and/or erosive events
within fluvial sequences.
