RJM's Audio Frequency Illustrator
Hear and see different frequency signals and what happens when they are filtered
This page illustrates sinusoidal audio signals : notes between 110Hz and 1760Hz - 4 octaves, and what happens when they are filtered.
Each note in each octave is shown by 'piano keys' and a vertical line: if you click on a key or a line you will hear the note played and see the associated sinusoid.
You can select whether you see/hear the 'input' signal only, the filtered 'output' signal only, or both (when you will hear the input then the output).
The graphs at the bottom show, due to the filter, how the size and the time shift change with frequency. When a note sounds, it is added to these graphs.
